Privacy notice

Almost no personal data is collected by this site. There are no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising cookies. This page explains exactly what is collected and your rights under UK GDPR.

Last updated: 2026-05-27

What this site does not do

  • It does not use analytics or visitor tracking of any kind (no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom).
  • It does not set advertising or marketing cookies.
  • It does not embed social media widgets that track you (no Facebook pixel, no Twitter follow buttons, no Like buttons).
  • It does not require an account.
  • It has no comments and no user-generated content.

The one thing this site does collect

There is one place where you can give me your email address: the launch-notification form on the page for Keystones in the Patterns of Place. If you give me your email address there:

  • Your email is stored with my form provider until the book launches.
  • I will send you exactly one email on launch day telling you the book is out and where to find it.
  • After that one email, your address is deleted within thirty days.
  • I do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise pass your email to anyone else.
  • If you want to remove your address before launch, write to [email protected] and I will delete it.

Cookies

This site itself does not set cookies. Cloudflare, which hosts the site and provides security, sets a small number of strictly necessary cookies for bot protection and performance (typically __cf_bm and cf_clearance). Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. They expire on their own and contain no information about you.

If your browser blocks all cookies, the site will still work. You may very occasionally see a Cloudflare challenge page.

If you write to me

If you write to me directly at [email protected], I keep your message and reply to it. I do not add you to any mailing list. If you would like me to delete our correspondence, ask and I will.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Ask what data I hold about you (Right of Access)
  • Ask me to correct anything wrong (Right to Rectification)
  • Ask me to delete what I hold (Right to Erasure)
  • Ask for your data in a portable format (Right to Portability)
  • Object to me processing your data (Right to Object)

To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. I will respond within thirty days. There is no fee.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled a data request, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Data controller

The data controller for this site is Marcus Demetrius Link. The contact address is [email protected].
